La Republica Dominicana

Hello everyone. Im doing great here in the Dominican Republic. Its amazing being a missionary. Its also really cool that I know spanish. I love to speak it. Im going to work really hard on my spanish so that i can master it. I want the people here to think I´m one of them. HAHHA. Im so glad to get emails from every one of you. They really help me get along. I love hearing all the sories you have. Well I dont have too much to say because last week was Semana Santo or in English Holy Week. It is the week that leads up to Easter. It also means that everyone from the capital goes to the beach or the Country to party. So our numbers went down. But all is well. We found an awesome family that I´m really excited to be teaching. They really have an intrest and keep on asking us about the church. They are really excited to attend. There are 2 things that missionaries love: When people go to church and when they are baptized and confirmed. It really is a joy to me to see these saints of God come to church. I really feel love for them and it is a beautiful feeling. Today we went to the temple. It is so amazing. I really payed attention to every little detail. It is amazing how much we learn. If we go with a question, I know that it will be anwsered. The Temple here is so huge and beautiful. It really reminds me of my house in Boise. It is very clean and very quiet. I love how everything is perfect in this gospel. I love to teach it to the people. It really changes peoples live. Well I love you all and wish you the best. Elder Russell and I will keep doing the work of the lord here and Hope you can too.

P.S. After the temple our district went to the CCM or the MTC here to look at the new Greenies coming to the DR. To my surprise I saw my old roomate from college. His name is Clint Earl. It was sweet. I couldnt belive it. He is going to Santiago or the North Mission so I wont see him. But we will experiance the same things in this Awesome Place. I told him some tips and how the Mission really is. HAHHAH

Whats going on!

Well Im doing great here in Los Alcarrizos. We have had much sucess and we are continuing to have more. Im so bless by the Lord. Things that I never have thought of before. We had a great experiance the other day as we were contacting. So a guy called us over adn it turns out that he is the first couselor in a stake in the east mission. He was there visiting his family with his bishop. They we trying to teach them the gospel. And low and behold we came by and we meet them. We taught the first lesson adn aslo let them teach a bunch too. We also visited another family after. Because we were in the right time and the right place dooing what we were supposed to be doing, we recived 8 refrences. The other members help a ton too. We have also had a great week these last 3 weeks. We also recived a letter from the president that we were doing well adn leading the mission. It is amazing what animo and good chemistry can do. I know that I was supposed to be with Elder Russell. HE needed me and I needed him. We are growing very close adn love to work. We are expecting more success as we are working side by side with the Lord. We are going tro try diffrent things this week and see if we can be just a little more spiritual and is we can study a little more too. We can always get better and we look forward with faith. All is in the Lord´s hands, we are only the instruments. He is our Boss and I think I´m just starting to get it. Everything is really clicking right now. Many things are starting to make sense. Yesturday we had another great Zone Confrence. But this one was the best of them all. The president talked to us about the Plan of Salvation and about the Temple. I learned so much about the covenents we make adn how everything goes together. I´m really going to focus hard and get all of the things i can from the Temple. There are so many things that we dont know and things that we dont understand. I learned that if we come into the temple with a question, we will find the anwser or a solution. We will think of more questions and will come out a true student. I know I have been so blessed here in my mission and know all this is true. It is all perfect. If you look from a spiritual way it is perfect. If you look logically it is perfect too. I love this gospel and my Savior Jesus Christ, He is my bud and my brother. I know we are in the true chruch because everything is 100% all together true.

Im Stoked

Im really stoked to be a misionary now. I get to feel and see things that I never could have at home. This is an awesome experiance and Im grateful for the opportunity to serve here in the DR. Los Alcarrizos is treating me well. Today was tranfers and Im going to be with Elder Russell for 6 more week. Im really looking forward to it. We are working really hard and have have many new familys. Yesterday we were contacting and found a lady talking with a neighbor. She invited us to sit down in her patio. We gladly recived her generosity. We explined who we were and what our message is. She said that 2 years ago they recived many lessons. THe dad and the oldest son were really interested. But one day they stopped coming. Im guessing the area was whitewashed and 2 new missionaries came in. Im really learning the inportance of record keeping and how much it can affect others lives. Elder Russell and I update our records about every night. It really is important to plan goals to. Im learning many things about putting reasonable goals and then meeting them. It is also very neat to strech ourselves and make something great happen. I really am a beliver of miricles now. Just the little miricles that we dont realize and very beautiful. Im really learned to look with new eyes.Im continuing to learn more and more words in spanish. Im trying 9 words or verbs a day. Im actually starting to think that when i come home I will minor in Spanish. It really is a beautiful language. I love to speak it and always learn something new. I have also learned many things about English and how it works. English is cool but Spanish is more beautiful. HAHHAH Im really looking forward to speaking with Dad and speaking Spanish. Well thats just about It. It was hard not being at home for Drew´s wedding but Im a man and Ill get over it. It really is diffrent having everyone grow up. Now im on the ticker. aaaaahhhhhh. DOnt worry about me. I still think girls have kuddies. hahahah. I love you all.
