Como estan mis familiares?

Heloo Hello my family! Im doing great as usual here in the Ghetto of Santo Domingo. Im a missionary and I love it. It really is neat how I have this opportunity to preach the gospel and be a servent 24 hours everyday for 2 years. The problem is that it goes way to fast. Right now Im trying to live the day to its fullest. Elder Russel and I are working really hard. He's counting the days till he goes home but Im keeping him strong. The Mission President put him with me so that he could die fighting. Im very greatful for this opportunity to be with me. Ive learned many good things from but I also learned many things that I wont miss from him. hahahaha But thats for the after mission talks. Over the last weeks we have been trying to get rid of all the investigators that arent and will not progress. We succeded in getting rid of about all our investigators. It wasnt their time, but im sure they will come to a full knowlegde latter on. I have learned much from my time here. We arent working on our time but the lords. He has a plan set out and we need to follow the plan. If people cannot progress we can do antmore. Sometime we have people who we love and they are great but we are not here for just the friendship. We must continue the work. I have been blessed so much by great leaders in my mission and I have learned much of the gospel from them. Im so thankful for my parents and for the way they raised me. They raised me into a man and I also had help from my beloved brothers and sister. I have so many great examples to follow and learn from. I hope that one day I will be able to become like you. You are the light and power I take with me when I teach. Lately I have been bring a photo book with many pictures of our family and I. I explain that families can be together forever and that they can be happy. I loved to share the conversion story of Dad with the people. I also share the love and Blessings we have as a family sealed in the temple. I love to teach families and help them come unto christ. I have seen families change so much. It is the happiness that keeps me going. Right now we are teaching an amazing family. They are Jesus and Keyna, and their sons are John and Jesusito. They are greatly progressing. They soaked up the Restoration adn the Plan of Salvation. They knew after the first lesson that Josesph was the prophet of the restoration adn that the Book of Mormon was true. It just happens that the day we met them I brought a Book of Mormon in my backpack. We usually dont teach the Book of Mormon the forst day. I felt prompted to Share the Book of Mormon with them. They Loved it. They know its true. A couple of days ago we taught them the 3rd lesson or the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They knew that the had the be baptized so they asked us what they needed to do to be baptized in the middle of the lesson. We gladly told them what was need and they were so happy. But it turns out theat they arent married by the law so they cannot be baptized at theis moment. They are going to try to get married as quick as possible. I have really seen the blessings of God in our Area and Lives. We have benn so blessed and I know that we are doing the Lords work. They lord is always preparing those who will accept the gospel. Sometimes it is only a matter of time.

I love you all so mucho. I pray for you. I Pray that you will have success in your lives and that you will have health. I Miss you all and even though we are very far away from eachother we have one thing in common. We are all praying to our Heavenly Father and that we are all united in him. I feel your prays and know that most of my success is do to you. I love my Savoir and all he has done for me. I thankful to have the Name Anderson as well as Jesus Cristo on my shirt everyday.

Adios

Que lo Que... Dominican slang for Whats up. hahaha

So Everything is great in my mission. Today we went to San Cristóbol to pick up Elder Russells suits. He got to Suits tailor made for about 250 dollars. Its a deal. Im thinking when Ill finish my mission Ill get a shnazzy suit too. On Sunday I was sick with a high fever and a headace. It hurt bad behind my eyes. That night I could barely move it took all my strength. We thought it might have been dengue but it wasnt. On Monday I was still real sick but we did a little work. I went #3, 6 times. It was bad. I also had an incredible pain in my neck and I couldnt move it at all without it hurting. But now its all night. It lasted only 2 days. Im thinking It was a flu. Other missionaries in the area had it a couple weeks before I got it. But not to worry Im a super missionary. Yesturday I felt the spirit so stronly that I Invited our investigator to be baptized. She took the invitation and will be baptized on the 10th. Also we are teaching an awesome family that we found the other week. They knew the book and Jospeh Smith were true on the first visit. They told us that they loved the mesage and that its great. The man works much so we stopped by one day to see how the wife was doing. She was angry that he took the Book of Moromon and the Pamphlets with him to other parts of the country. So we calmed her down and gave her the same pamphlets and Book of Mormon. I think that we will put a date with them. Yesturday we had an awesome zone conference. I learned so much. They foucused on chapter 9 of Preach my Gospel. Its really important to continually get new investigators and to also throw them away if they arent progressing. Well not too much more here. I love you all much.

Transfers

Well today is tranfers but Elder Russell and I arent leaving. We are going to be together for the 3 straight transfer. So well be together for 4 1/2 months. 3 transfers will test much patience but I think we can pull it out. Elder Russell is finishing his mission with me and is the 2nd missionary that I will have killed. Its a good thing that we get along together well. Our area is a little weak right now because our investigators arent keeping their commitments. I do know that the lord is working on our side because while we were looking for a reference we stopped at the house next door. They said that she had moved to San Cristobal for quite some time. So they asked if we would come in. It turns out they had the missionaries over before. It has been 3 or 4 years but they remember they were good people. The father remembered a little of the Jospeh Smith story and also that they had been given the Book of Mormon before. We taught them about the reseration of the church and about the First Vision. That same morning before we left, as we were praying I thought to bring a Book of Mormon with us. It turns out it was for them. We read the introduction to the Book and he loved it. He was very interested from the Introduction and wanted to know more. He really felt the spirit with us that lesson and we game him some homework. The homework was for him and his family to read the 11th chapter of 3 Nephi as a family. He said that they would be ready to awnser the questions we are going to ask tommorow. They have a beautiful family of 2 boys also. I really now that God works in mysterious ways. I set goals with Elder Russel and I told him that he wasnt going to die lazily but that I was going to work himself to death. I put other mission and personal goals with him. He accepted them and now he wants to go out strong. Im so happy right now to be on a mission and see the change in peoples lives. This is really a great experiance and I wouldnt change it for the world. I know that Jesus lives and that he guides the Church today. I know that my calling here to the Dominican Republic is revelation from God. Im so thatnkful for My family and friends for all that they have done for me. I have been well raised by loving parents and Awesome brothers and sisters. Also my friends are on the list for keeping me in shape. I love you all and am feeling good to be a representative of Jesus Christ.

Why Hello!

Hello Everyone. Everything is great here. I love Los Alcarrizos. Well this week was interesting. I had a great time watching confrence this week. It was very neat seeing the mantle of the prophet be passed to Thomas S Monson. I really have much respect for him. I love his tender stories and grat council. I know he is a prophet of God. I really enjoyed the whole 2 days of learning. I belive the in last 2 confrences I paid the most I have ever done in my life. Being a missionary I really have gotten to know my spiritual side very much. I have always been a work hard, play hard kind of guy. I like my play time but when It comes to the things that really matter I do them. I have such a strong testimony of the church. I have seen and felt so many things that I cannot deny this message. I really do have a firm belief in Jesus Christ he is the perfect example. We also have a prophet to lead and guide us. ONe thing that I have noticed is that all of the 12 Apostales is diffrent. They each bring something to the table. Im so thankful for my uniqueness. I know im not the best misionary or the best teacher, or know everything, but I am Elder Anderson. I have a testimony of this gospel. Thats all we need to be a qualified apostle. This week had its ups and downs. On monday the day after conference Elder Russell and I dropped two people from our teaching list. These two had baptizmal dates. They keeped putting them back. After the third time we said we couldnt teach them anymore because they wont progress further. It was so hard to drop them. They are very great persons but they will not commit and be baptized. We are teachers and that is our job. We taught all we could and that was it. But as long as we keep and follow the counsel of our mission president we will be blessed. 2 weeks ago in our interviews with the President. He talked to us individially about getting and dropping investigators. He had a cup with him and he taught me a great parable of churning milk to make creme at the top. Those people how will not be baptized will have to be thrown out and later they might be added again, when they are ready. We should also be getting a new onvestigator every day. This is the goal he has asked us to accomplish. So now we come to the cool part. The same night on which we dropped the 2 people, we recived a reference from another missionary. The next day we recived another reference from a missionary. I know this was God blessing us for following our liders. We are so blessed here. ONe investigator Narobi actually defended and taught other people about the church. I was so proud of her. After we left one night, so people confronted her and said we worshiped Joseph Smith and that he wrote the Book of Mormon. She bore her testimony and said the first article of faith, and that Joseph Smith translated the book. She also said that the Book of Mormon is to help us understand the Bible. When I heard this I was smiling from ear to ear and gave her a pound from my fist. It was very special. She is really interesting especially about the Priesthood. She dosnt understand why women dont have the priesthood. That is a great question that Im going to find out for her. Well thats about it. Im still having fun with Elder Russell. Transfers are this next wendsday and we have no Idea what is going to happen. Ill let ya know next week.

I have a story!

Hey my Peeps,

I hope everything has been going great in your lives. I know that here Im doing great. This is a great time to be alive and be a missionary. Ive been so blessed here in my mission. I love just looking around at all the things that I have been blessed with. If we really look and search we can find many new things that we havent ever noticed. Two days ago our Zone had our interviews with the President of the mission. It was amazing. I love how much of a great man President Bair is and how learned he is. He really is a man called of God and has a huge vision. I love trying to do everything he says. I know that when I heed and follow his counsel I am blessed. He is really impressed with the work we have done here in Los Alcarrizos. The only problem is that I might be tranfered this upcoming transfer in 2 weeks. But we really dont know what is going to happen. Elder Russell has 1 tranfer lefet but he has already been here 4. So is we stays he will have been here for 7 and a half months. SO he might get moved for a transfer. But the probability is that I will leave and he will stay in the Area. But whatever happens Ill be happy. It has been raining much here in this last week. 4 of of 5 days. I love the rain but when you walk around all day in it you tend to be a little dirty. Well we are continuing to work hard here and doing well. We are teaching 5 families right now and we are havppy. We just pray that they will progress. Ok, now the story. Always while we are walking kids say bad stuff to us in English as in worse than the middle finger. So lately Elder Russell has been 0 tolerance. The other week he chased a kid into a house and told the grownups what we said. Im pretty sure he got beat. The parents and adults here have 0 tolarance for that kid of stuff here. The hate badly raised kids. So 2 days ago after the Interviews with the President we were walking on the road of the Bishop. He had just passed his house when we saw kids on the side of the road. I saw one of them whispering to another. I knew he was teaching another kid to say bad stuff in English. So I told Elder Russell they were going to say something. So as precicted a kid said something. Elder Russell turned around and took took steps at them as a kid started running. Elder Russell chased after him. Elder Russell barely toached his shirt as the 13 year old kid turned on a point and juked Elder Russell. Then he he was so smart to run back into my direction. He tried to run up the side of the street but being ticked off my football side kicked in. I side stepped, took a couple of steps and leveled the kid through a metal fence. It was the tin that go on tin roofs. So I Leveled this kick though this fence. He actually flew through the air. Elder Russell grabed him by the neck and we yelled at the other kids to tell us where he lives. They gladdly told us. As we started walking to the house he broke free screaming. Elder Russell caught him the next street down where his house was. We picked him up and took him to his hous. We told teh Parents what we said. The dad said we could beat him first then he would. We declined the offer and told him not to beat him too hard. He just needed to learn his lesson. It turns out that it was the same kid that Ran away the last time. We told all the kids on the street the last time and many times before not to say those words. So I think they learned a lesson. THe first time no. But teh second time after being launched into a metal fence and beat by his dad. So that is my little story for today. They know what the say and I wont take anything if I here that phrase. I will protect my family and also all the others that I care for. ahhaha. Dont freak out to bad. We are still working hard. hahaha.
